A Taste of Portugal with Art Deco Flair in the Heart of Toronto

Taberna LX is located in the heart of one of the city’s most iconic avenues, in a neighborhood affectionately known as “Little Portugal.”
It offers a cultural fusion that blends Portuguese tradition with the elegance of Art Deco design. Spanning approximately 300 square meters, the space is divided into three distinct areas: a ground floor featuring a welcoming bar and lounge area where guests can enjoy drinks and light bites; a first floor dedicated to dining, where more elaborate dishes are served; and an outdoor terrace designed for open-air experiences.

The essence of Art Deco is deeply embedded in the interior elements—not only in the choice of materials but also in the selection of furniture and decorative features. Portuguese culture is reflected primarily in the menu, offering a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience in the area.

Notable design highlights include the ground floor bar with its striking cabinet that rises to the ceiling, creating a cinematic focal point; custom stone mosaic flooring; counters faced with traditional Viúva Lamego tiles; fluted glass accents; and bespoke wrought ironwork framing all the openings.

The color palette transitions gradually from CIN Antologia’s Venetian Red to Cypress, with touches of India Yellow—an eye-catching combination that sparks curiosity while maintaining a sense of calm. The result is a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests can relax, linger, and feel inspired to return.
