A Return to Portuguese Roots in the Heart of Manhattan

Located on West 10th Street in Manhattan, this Portuguese restaurant offers a contemporary reinterpretation of tradition — a space where heritage, craftsmanship, and gastronomy come together in an elevated and immersive experience. Inspired by the idea of returning to Portuguese roots, the concept blends the authenticity of traditional culture with the sophistication of a high-end dining destination.

Spanning approximately 2.450 square feet (277sqm), the restaurant is organized into three distinct dining environments, each offering an increasing sense of intimacy and privacy. The journey begins in the Front Dining room, a lively and energetic space designed for a dynamic rhythm and higher guest turnover. From there, guests move into the Winery — a warmer, more intimate setting created for longer dinners and larger gatherings, where the atmosphere becomes increasingly relaxed and convivial. The experience culminates in the Chef’s Table, the most private and personal space within the restaurant, where guests are invited into a closer connection with both the kitchen and the story of the chef and owner himself.

The interior design reflects a refined interpretation of Portuguese identity. A rich palette moving between deep wine red and cypress green establishes a warm and enveloping atmosphere, while the strong presence of natural wood introduces texture, depth, and timelessness throughout the space.
Decorative elements subtly reference the traditions of Barcelos, with carefully curated objects and artisanal details bringing moments of color, memory, and cultural authenticity into the contemporary setting. The result is an environment that feels sophisticated yet deeply rooted — a restaurant designed not only for dining, but for storytelling, connection, and rediscovery.
