Hermès
Winter 2019
Magical Toys in Motion
In the festive season of 2019, Studio Astolfi reimagined the world of Hermès Lisbon through a captivating narrative of Magical Toys, celebrating the beauty and joy of movement and kinetic energy in a luxury setting.
Each window display was designed as a miniature performance: objects animated by intricate mechanical systems, programmed in collaboration with digital programmers, delivering rhythm, motion, and storytelling. These complex mechanisms required continual adjustment across the season—but the payoff was immense. The result: living vitrines that communicated Hermès craftsmanship like never before.
Astolfi’s creative process embraced imperfection and experimentation, where wires, motors, and failures helped inform artistic breakthroughs. The narratives were precise and whimsical, subtle yet theatrical—a true blend of luxury and childlike wonder.
Rather than following a static presentation, the windows invited onlookers to experience Hermès products as parts of dynamic tableaux—featuring toys, mechanical gears, and atmospheres that merged sophistication with imaginative movement.
This project exemplifies Astolfi’s signature approach: turning brand displays into stages of emotion, narrative, and delight—a visual dialogue where luxury meets playful storytelling.
