Through Shapes & Colour
Studio Astolfi designed the set for the 2020 L’Oréal Portugal campaign.«. This installation is a thoughtful orchestration of colour, shape, balance, and scale crafted to spotlight the product while creating an unforgettable visual narrative.
The design is structured around: vibrant contrast of intense blue arches and calm light pink planes, dark blue stair elements interweaving with soft monochrome areas and oversized paper planes that introduce a playful, dynamic scale.
These architectural gestures—blue arches framing product displays, pastel-pink surfaces softening dramatic forms, and dark-stepped platforms—come together in Astolfi’s unmistakable visual vocabulary: poetic, ironic, and meticulously balanced.
Rather than lauding spectacle, the set offers a clean, evocative backdrop—every geometric gesture serving as silent stage for the shampoo’s story. Bold colour contrasts energize the space, while warmth and grounded tone keep it approachable. It’s a world where product becomes character, supported by a staging that is both sculptural and intimate.
With Studio Astolfi behind the vision, the set gracefully balances high-design aesthetics with everyday familiarity. The oversize elements are more than whimsical—they underscore scale and presence; the palette is dramatic yet gentle; the spatial interplay evokes emotion while staying true to a brand narrative rooted in natural beauty and thoughtful storytelling.
This was, in essence, a Studio Astolfi magic moment—transforming a functional product shoot into a visual theatre of colour, scale, and elegance, capturing the brand identity of L’Oréal Portugal with refined simplicity and striking visual charm.
